Swimming Bell
Swimming Bell is the musical project of Katie Schottland, a Philadelphia-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter whose ethereal melodies and intricate harmonies create a dreamlike sonic landscape. Drawing inspiration from folk traditions, layered vocal textures and atmospheric production, Schottland crafts songs both intimate and otherworldly.
Latest EP, Somnia, produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Cass McCombs), deepens this signature sound, immersing listeners in an underwater dreamworld of floating melodies and percussive currents. With influences from Laurel Canyon folk to modern indie experimentalism, Somnia showcases Schottland’s ability to blend warmth with mystery, nostalgia with newness. The EP is out via Perpetual Doom, a label known for championing unique and boundary-pushing artists.
Since debuting with The Golden Heart in 2019, Swimming Bell has built a reputation for evocative songwriting and transportive live shows, inviting audiences into a space shimmering and weightless, where time slows, harmonies bloom, and deep currents of emotion pull listeners closer.

Emily Barker w. Luke Dux
Emily Barker is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter. Following early success as writer and performer of the theme to the hugely successful BBC/PBS Masterpiece crime drama Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh, Emily has since gone on to forge an acclaimed catalogue of releases.
show moreBarker’s newest album, Fragile as Humans, produced at storied English studio The Wool Hall by Luke Potashnick (Gabrielle Aplin, Jack Savoretti, Alberta Cross) is her first album for nearly four years, following A Dark Murmuration of Words, which Uncut called “…a kind of Australian equivalent of PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake”
Barker has released music and toured as a solo artist as well as with various bands and collaborations, most notably her long association with Frank Turner, and has written for TV and film, including composing the soundtrack for Jake Gavin’s lauded debut feature Hector starring Peter Mullan and Keith Allen.

David M Western
Depth and a quiet pull is found in the music of David M Western. It can deliver a gut punch you never saw coming. Moments of reflection, cutting witicism and strange regionally-tinged anecdotes thrown at you from every direction, David M Western simultaneously drives you crazy while keeping you calm from the passenger seat.
show moreHaving got his start as a musician hopping bars playing bass or guitar for bands in the thriving Melbourne folk-rock and country scene, then building on a growing solo reputation from debut 2022 album Child Mind, Western now wields an even more incisive and soul-searching magnifying glass on his latest release, the vast, reflective and tender album On, On & On.
Playing to packed rooms as part of a residency at now cult-icon Melbourne pub ‘The Gem’, a sold out album launch at The Old Bar, touring in support of Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi) and signing to Melbourne indie label ‘Cheersquad Records & Tapes’, Western is on the rise.
Listeners at first enjoy the quality of songwriting and excitement within David’s songs, then return for the emotional connection they find within his lyrics. True.

Charlotte Le Lievre
With her lilting voice and timeless sensibilities, Charlotte Le Lievre makes music that hits right to the heart, in the unique tradition of old-time country songwriters. Her songs connect with the authenticity of human experience, navigating grief, joy and collective struggle. Charlotte pays homage to early country and folk styles, commenting on modern dilemmas.
show moreCharlotte spent most of her early 20s on the road, hitchhiking and living at blockades in remote corners of the Australian continent – exposed to the music of early country and folk troubadours, her style and sound combine the richness of a life on the road, with a deep admiration for the roots of country and folk music.
Charlotte released her debut Songs from the Barrier Line in 2023, debuting at #4 on the ARIA Australian Country Album Charts and #3 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association 100% Independent Album Charts, and received a coveted spot on the Best Country Music on Bandcamp. Charlotte is currently working on her sophomore album Grief Knows No Borders, set for release in 2026.

Racoo
RACOO is the musical project of Albany’s Rachel Hocking — songs about smoking, ruminating, sitting in sadness & 24-hour bottle shops. Now based in Naarm/Melbourne, RACOO returns west with a band of dearly loved WA collaborators for a special NewFarm, New Country spot.
show moreBlending melancholy country with something closer to heroin folk, RACOO’s music feels like a slow exhale in a dim room. It’s wistful, raw, and sometimes uncomfortable— capable of stirring a crowd into tears or to awkward silence, as RACOO did recently in a tiny Preston bar.
RACOO has supported Pond, Peter Bibby, Carla Geneve, The Kill Devil Hills, Shiny Joe Ryan & the Sky Dolphins, Maraby Band, Jess Johns, High Beamers, and Mick Thomas & The Roving Commission. Festival appearances to date include Camp Doogs, Fairbridge and Nannup.
RACOO’s latest release — Bringing the Horses In — was recorded in the Adelaide Hills and is out on Milestone Records. Expect to be lifted — briefly — by sentimentality, or momentary joy, only to be dropped gently back into the floorboards. Somehow, it might make you feel more alive.

The Wilds
The Wilds are a roguish rag-tag bunch of scallywags: Luke Dux (guitar) & Todd Pickett (drums) on loan from The Kill Devil Hills; Dan Carroll (guitar) pried from The Southern River Band (maybe); John Wilson (bass) stolen from The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly; while Tom Garvey (keyboards) appears courtesy of daughter Edie, and Ben Power (sax) on behalf of his dog, Bob. Bonded in beer and blood, united by the noble aim to amplify lead singer Chris Davis’ simple and beautiful songs beyond the humble hay shed.

Anna Schneider (Friday Night)
As her first few notes float out into the air, chatter simmers to silence; Walyalup singer-songwriter Anna Schneider has all eyes fixed on-stage. The form and feeling of her songwriting, slipping between folk and rock with alt-country touchstones, is effortless, true and intimate – inviting comparisons to Julia Jacklin, Kate Bollinger or Indigo De Souza. The Nomadics
The Nomadics are Bec Schofield and Dave Mann. A potent alchemy took place when they met a decade ago in the NT. Perfect vocal harmonies, banjo, slide & open-tunings come
together to create their unique form of soul country music, with its bare feet firmly planted in folk. Vikki Thorn said:
“Their stunning harmonies drew me in, reminding me what a beautiful thing is music“. VIKKI THORN – THE WAIFS
Both Bec and Dave are blessed with incredibly rich and soulful voices, which meld seamlessly. Missy Higgins said: “I’ve had the privilege of singing and harmonising with Bec and … it’s been very magical, she carries the full force of the earth and motherhood within her… a beautiful singer and songwriter with an authentically Australian voice.” MISSY HIGGINS
Though based in SW WA, they’re almost always on tour (now as a family of five!), including in very remote areas, as they home-school the kids and hunt for veggie oil – the liquid gold that keeps them and their truck on the road. They sing songs of Country and family; breathing life into characters and stories that yearn to be heard and honoured.
“The Nomadics write songs that feel as though they have risen from the expansive landscapes they traverse. I can’t get through a set of theirs without clutching at my heart, tears in my eyes, and hope in my blood” MAMA KIN
Listening to The Nomadics might make you weep, but they are healing tears that soothe and renew .. medicine for the soul as they ‘sing up’ a campfire in the heart of audiences.

Stack of Bibles
Born from the love of outlaw and cowboy music greats, Stack of Bibles have been described by the king of monglegrass, Mr Justin Walshe, as “heavy hitting country counterpunchers with a tower of tales or epic moral conundrums”. These tales are born from suburban mediocrity and dance the line between truths, half-truths and outright lies. Wherever the truth lies, come decide for yourself.

Andrew Mostyn Powell
Until lately, the story of Andrew Mostyn Powell’s musical ventures of the last 30 years have sadly been more about the music he didn’t release than the music he did. An unheralded singer-songwriter, Powell’s transition from indie underground to somewhat overground never really happened when many thought it might. Did we mention he made an as yet unheard record in Nashville with an ex-member of Wilco?
show moreStretching back to the mid-90s, Powell and then band Bucket signed a four-album deal with New York punk label Radical Records, after releasing two discs through Shock Records in Australia to much indie acclaim. The band broke up in 1997 yet made two successful live come backs in 2000 and 2016, and are now re-issuing the Shock releases through Igloo Records.
Powell went on to front alt-country / “adult alternative” outfit The Jaycos in the 2000’s, until they also fell into a quiescence.
2023’s shimmeringly sorrowful“Circle in the Lights” was the first new track to make its way into the world since The Jaycos’ 2005 award winning “Asbestos Fibro”, still a stone cold classic. With unexpected elements of the jazz folk of Tim Buckley and drum machines, it was still instantly recognisable to anyone who was already a fan of Powell’s lived-in voice and lyrics. All the indie folk weariness is still all there. Though now cast in a completely new “tronica-lite” light. Powell has new material on the way shortly, and a film score in the works.

Simon London & Dave Mann
Two of WA’s standout songwriter-vocalists join forces for a very rare show – sharing songs, trading stories and mining through their songsmithing for those back-catalogue gems. Dave Mann (Dave Mann Collective, The Nomadics) and Simon London (the Spirits, The Red Tails) have both individually plied their trade for decades – travelling the world, writing songs, releasing albums and singing it up with their respective bands.
show moreKnown and remembered out front of Dave Mann Collective for his incredible vocal range & ability and searing slide-guitar, Dave Mann was a key fixture of WA’s burgeoning roots & blues scene in the 2000s. The appetite for the well-loved Collective saw them quickly become a hard-working, endlessly-touring act, playing all the major folk festivals around Australia along with overseas excursions. Now half of The Nomadics, Dave’s songwriting and guitar nous continues strong while his vocal ability is still a ‘stop-you-in-your-tracks’ level of astounding.
Simon London emerged in a similar era, quickly becoming known for soaring vocal prowess and anthemic songwriting out front of the Spirits. Touring west-to-east, with solo tour dates in the US, Canada and UK, momentum built behind six band and solo releases. Simon now tours with Simon London + the Spirits and The Red Tails (Tammy London, Vikki Thorn), but it’s still the power of his voice and song that draws crowds.
WIth their respective back-catalogues to dig through, and Dave on crying pedal steel, they now share their lives of singing songs – about country, family, and life – trading licks and vocal harmonies on the way. Joined by the inimitable (and ridiculously talented) Mark Gretton on drums and percussion, this will be a Sunday morning set not to miss.
